video-transcript:
What is good everyone and welcome to the NBA 2K lab. In this video, we'll be looking at the hook specialist badge and the effectiveness at each level. We ran a few different tests to give you an idea of different scenarios when it comes to this badge. And I'm not going to waste your time. So, of course, like the video, subscribe if you find this information useful, and let's get right into it. For these tests, we exclusively looked at the increase in green window size. Now, let's first look at hook shots from anywhere from 7 to 9 ft. The offensive player had a 92 close shot and a 90 post control for each badge level. And here's the result. Now, the shots were wide open, but the green window sizes are also large because the shots are from inside 10 ft. In this scenario, we can see no badge has a green window size of 59 milliseconds, even with the high attributes. Bronze hook specialist sees an increased green window size of nearly 51% compared to no badge, and then silver at 68%, gold at 85%, Hall of Fame more than doubles the green window size, and then legend sees a 136% increase. Moving a few feet further back at 10 to 12 ft, the boost is much smaller as the shots become tougher. But nonetheless, the boost is still fairly linear as bronze sees a 10% increase in green window size when compared to no badge. Silver at 18%, gold increases by 25%, hall of fame by 31%, and legend sees a 41% increased green window size in this scenario. So, as you can see, moving a few feet further back definitely shrinks the green window. In our last test, we looked exclusively at different close shot attribute levels, each with legend hook specialists equipped. This gives us a better idea of the effectiveness of each attribute rating. Each rating shows a linear boost up until legend where the green window size doesn't see a considerable increase. Now, if you prioritize post hooks, going for at least Hall of Fame hook specialist looks to be pretty effective. Even when using a max plus one from gold, you can see good results. Bronze and silver provide a decent boost over no badge. But if you're looking to use post hooks, I wouldn't go less than gold with the proper requirement. Ultimately, the badge level you decide to target depends on your frequency of post hooks. Close shot and post control are expensive on bigger builds. So, if you do decide to use these at a high level, chances are you'll be sacrificing somewhere else on your build. Now, that is all we have for the Hook Specialist badge test.
