Gameplay Enhancements
- Smarter shot contests: AI defenders contest shots a lot better this year, with smarter positioning in modes like The REC and less of a payoff from Triple Threat Stepovers, so contests actually play like real defense.
- Dynamic Dunk Meter: The Dunk Meter is fully dynamic now. It reads the defense from takeoff all the way to the finish, so the green window grows when you have a clear lane to the rim and shrinks against a late closeout.
MyPLAYER Builder & Badges
- New badges: The badge count jumps to 53, up from 40 in 2K26. 19 badges are brand new, 6 got cut and the ones that carried over were retuned. Three of the new badges 2K has shown so far:
- Pace: sprint speed
- Wall-Up: hands up on defense
- Flash: transition movement
- Cap Breaker previews: One highly requested quality of life improvement is that you can now preview Cap Breaker attribute boosts right in the builder, so you can dial in a build without loading into The City over and over to test it. You do need to have earned a Cap Breaker first before the preview shows up.
MyTEAM
- One shared Auction House: Buy and sell across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 in one shared Auction House, the biggest card pool in MyTEAM history.
- Instant card transactions: Transactions are quicker too. The old verification delays are gone on every platform, so cards you buy show up right away.
MyNBA
- Closer to the real NBA: MyNBA now mirrors how the real league is built, including the way the second apron limits roster moves and the option to give free agents a clause that blocks trades.
MyCAREER & The City
- Neon City redesign: The City keeps the compact, central layout from 2K26 but gives it a nighttime neon makeover, with fresh looks for The REC, Street Kings and the Park.
- Rucker Park: Rucker Park, the legendary New York City court, joins Street Kings and shows up in the MyCAREER prelude story "Fire & Concrete."
