NBA 2K25 New Badges Announced

The new courtside report revealed that 2k25 will only have 40 total badges in the MyCareer / MyPlayer Mode. You can view all the new badges at the link below.

NBA 2K25 Cap Breakers

One of the biggest pieces of news related to the 2k25 release is the announcement of the new Capbreaker mechanic in the game. Each player can unlock a total of 15 cap breakers that will allow your to go above your capped attribute rating. According to 2k Dev Zach Timmerman there are unique build names that can only be unlocked by using Cap Breakers.

NBA 2K25 New Takeovers

There are a total of 72 takeovers in 2k25 with 14 Takeover Abilities.

NBA 2K25 New Dribble Engine

NBA 2K25 will feature a new dribble engine that they are advertising as the best upgrade in 15 years. ProPlay is completely taking over the dribble system and replacing the old engine which was based on pre-recorded animations. The mycareer blog promises a significantly improved dribble experience in 2k25 that sounds very promising and will hopefully add some variety to the moves players can use to create open looks.

NBA 2K25 Badge Elevators

2K has eliminated Floor Setters in 2k25 but has introduced Badge Elevators which can permanently boost badges up to 3 levels. These are unlocked via Season Rewards, which confirms the return of Season Rewards

NBA 2K25 Badge Perks

There is a new Badge Perk system in 2k25. There are 3 perks, Max +1, Participation and Synergy. Synergy sounds the most impactful initially as it allows you to make badge progress off the actions of your teammates. Participation will guarantee a floor amount of experience each game for a badge and Max +1 will allow you to go 1 level above a badges max potential.

NBA 2K25 Dynasty Rankings

The GOAT system has been replaced by a Dynasty system that will have you trying to knock off the Michael Jordan Bulls to become the greatest NBA Dynasty of all time.
