Shot Timing Profile

In NBA 2K25, a new setting called Shot Timing Profiles has been introduced, allowing players to customize the risk-versus-reward aspect of their shot timing.

Selecting "Low Risk-Reward" provides more forgiving shot timing that prioritizes ratings, openness, and taking smart shots over the release of the button or stick. With this option, a mistimed shot could still go in, but the green make window will be smaller, making it more difficult to consistently achieve excellent-timed releases.

Opting for "High Risk-Reward" offers more challenging shot timing with green-or-miss outcomes. Players who are consistently good at timing their shots will benefit significantly by choosing this option.

"Medium Risk-Reward" will be a mix between the two. A slightly smaller green or miss window but a little bigger make window with RNG built in.

This tool should hopefully help you identify which shot profile you should choose.

Instructions:

  1. Enter your target shot timing in milliseconds in the input field.
  2. Perform 3 practice attempts by pressing and holding the button to simulate shot timing. These do not count towards your final results.
  3. Complete 20 actual attempts, trying to match your shot timing to the target as closely as possible.
  4. Review your results and see the recommended Shot Timing Profile based on your performance.
  5. Click "Start Over" to reset the game and try again.
