Your more likely to shoot a midrange catch and shoot or space creator shot and it only applies to post fades from the midrange, not close range.
Middy Magician - 2k23 Test Details

To test the Middy Magician badge we set up a script to take moving mid range shots and record the make percentage. We then took 200 shots at each badge level at an 81 mid range rating.

Middy Magician - 2k23 Test Results

Middy Magician is a really solid badge and the return is really good. The problem is it is a boost to mid range shots which in general is not optimal. We generally recommend players spend their shooting badge points on 3 point badges. If you are a 1v1 or 2v2 player this does not apply as this badge is S tier in those modes.

Badge Unlock Table Details

This table shows how many attribute points you need in order to unlock a badge at the level in the header. If a badge is a Tier 1 badge you do not need any attributes in order to unlock the badge at a bronze level. If its Tier 2 or 3, you will need to meet the attribute threshold to unlock the badge. If there is more than one attribute listed, you only need to meet the threshold on one of the attributes, not multiple.
