video-transcript:
there's no doubt that layups have become way more effective over the recent years of NBA 2K we have an information packed video for you guys today as we'll be going over the best layup packages in this year's game and talking about each package's strengths and weaknesses then towards the end of the video I'll be showing you guys how to perform each type of layup inside of 2K 24 with a controller cam so if you're ready for today's video go ahead and drop a like subscribe to the channel for more informative 2K videos like this let's go ahead and get into it [Music] up first is the LeBron James layup package requiring an 87 driving layup this is by far the easiest layup package to use in this year's game as it has a very consistent normal layup animation his normal layup gets a lot of height to it making it a really hard layup to block and contest and it also jolts you to the rim before a Defender can beat you there making this layup package almost entirely uncontestable the downsides to this layup package is it has very 50/50 animations with the scoops and the floaters so it's not the best situational layup package but definitely up there with the best up next is the Recently Added Devon Booker layup package requiring an 85 layup rating and unlike the LeBron James layup you can get very creative with this layup package but the animation that stands out to people the most is his floaters these floaters are some of the fastest and deepest floater animations within the game so this could be an amazing addition to your game if you find yourself often going against those paint sitting centers in the ri he does get one bad floater animation if activated too close to the rim but if you lab up this package you can avoid that animation altogether outside of that he also gets pretty consistent scoop and normal layups so this is by far one of the best and favorite layup packages within the game up next is a criminally underrated package being the Jaylen Brown layup package requiring an 84 driving layup what makes this package so good is how good and consistent his scoop layup animations are he has the best and fastest scoop animations within the game to avoid getting blocked but can also make pretty contested layups with this package as you pick up Hollow Fame scooper badge at the same 84 driving layup threshold so this package is perfect for fighting through contact and finishing over defenders if you guys find yourself not beating your man to the rim as much the downsides to this layup package is it's pretty one-dimensional and his other animations aren't as consistently good up next we have a very good budget layup package being the Jimmy Butler layup package requiring a 79 driving layup and we recommend if you aim for this layup package going up to that 80 driving layup while you're at it to pick up Hall of Fame Pro Touch as well as silver Sly finish this package offers fairly consistent scoop animations as well as a very nice eurostep animation with that being said he also has a very slow Euro Step animation so sometimes this layup package can look amazing with its low threshold but it can also have some bad and slow animations within this layup package last but not least we have the best allaround layup package for those guards 64 under the Trey young layup package requiring an 80 driving layup this package has amazing normal and scoop layups but it really shines with its floater animations at such a low threshold we often see those competitive three hunting point guards running this and once a Defender plays too high they can use their speed to blow by their Defender and fire off this floater animation being a very effective way to score this floater animation overall is very effective so now that we know each layup package is strengths and weaknesses we can now learn how to maximize the strengths and stay away from the weaknesses before I get into the tutorials with a hand cam remember if you need more help there's plenty of tutorials within the 2K U at 2k's main screen up first is what 2K considers a normal layup running towards the rim and holding directly up on your right stick you're going to want to release it when you feel like you're inside of the green window of the animation this is the animation you'll want to lean towards if you're running that LeBron James layup package up next are the scoop animations you just want to run towards the basket and you can scoop inwards or outwards away from the basket holding directly to the right or directly to the left on your right analog stick these are the animations you'll want to be leaning towards if an Defender is bumping you and if you're using that Jaylen Brown layup package up next is the floater this time we're holding directly down on the right stick when we're relatively far away from the basket LeBron James and Jimmy Butler packages have some pretty decent floater animations but if you're using Devon Booker or Trey young you really want to lean on this animation up next we have the Euro Step now there's two different ways to perform this Euro Step I don't find the way that 2ku explains it to be the easiest way in their tutorial they show you to hold down diagonal on the right stick but I find this to be a harder way to activate it as the angle is very precise the way I recommend is quickly flicking one way on the right stick then holding the right stick to the opposite way you just flick to really take full control of this animation for the Hop step animation all you're doing is tapping your shoot button once to get that hop step animation and for the spin animation you just want to double tap that shoot button for the reverse layup you want to be traveling Baseline and you want to hold your right stick away from the basket this is perfect against a Defender that's really eager to block your shot as you can get them to jump early with this animation and don't forget you can acrobat out of any of these layup animations by either rotating your right stick in a spinning direction or as I recommend to just double tap your shoe button there's no timing required for acrobatic layups so I often find myself just spamming the button so we hoped you guys learned something in today's video go ahead and comment down below your goto layup package and while you're down there be sure to
