Wait so d-book is completely gone or redone?
Book has a new ProPlay breakdown for 2K27.
if you ever see a non-green go in... it was either deflected in (not the case here) or the physics engine failed to resolve the miss properly. the physics team has spent a lot of time trying to iron out those issues for 2K27.
will off dribble shots be easier from the 3pt line this year? players like luka hit stepback 3s all the time but in the game is nearly impossible, makes it very hard to emulate that playstyle
it's easier to hit stepback 3's with Luka this year. his stepback 3 going left is one of the go-to shots for me when i use the lakers.
Does this apply to layups as well?
Yes. same 10% boost
@Beluba Do you think going really high interior and low block is viable? Obviously won’t get much blocks but the interior contests (stopping dunks & layups, etc.) should still be very strong right? Something like 85 interior and 70 block as an example #NBA2K27
as a PF, high interior is pretty important imo. if you get matched up with a masher, you'll get fried in the paint with low interior.
@Beluba little follow up, but is there a percentage boost for shooting with pro stick again this year?
The Shot Button and Rhythm Shooting have identical green window sizes. But for rhythm shooting your accuracy in matching the Tempo, which is more difficult to do this year compared to last year, can make your green window expand or shrink slightly from that base size. So if you're really good at matching the tempo of your shot, you will have a slight advantage over button shooters. But if your tempo isn't as consistent, you will be putting yourself at a disadvantage using rhythm. Rhythm shooting will always be cooler than the button IMO though. 😎
@Beluba Would you say similar to NBA2k25 rhythm shooting then?
it's closer to 25 than 26, but not exactly the same.
Is the intuitive alley oop system off in Play Now or certain difficulties? The description says: Completing an alley-oop is completely streamlined. The button on the controller you must press now maps to one of four directions the pass is coming from. For example, press Square/X if it’s on the left side or press Circle/B if it’s on the right side. You can also choose to flick the Pro Stick toward the ball with good timing to flush it down. As you can see in this video, a lob from the right triggered Square as the input required. Can you elaborate? @Beluba
On Semi-Pro and Pro, it's always SQUARE/X to finish oops. On Rookie, there's no button at all (like last year.) The directional alley-oop finish buttons are on the rest of the difficulties.
Is real percentage coming back for offline players?
Yes you can use RP% offline. You can disable dunk timing offline too.
Late contests on layups and dunks is a tough problem to solve. If you takeoff and are wide open for most of the layup but a great defender closes out late just as you release the ball, we still want that defender to matter. so locking the green window at takeoff or just after takeoff isn't the best fix. Late contests aren't as strong in 27 as they were in 26... so in general, the layup meter doesn't shrink late as drastically this year, but it still can shrink. we tried to mitigate this by always starting off the layup/dunk meter somewhat small to not give people a false sense of security with a giant green window as a target early in the layup. this makes the green window more stable overall but having said that, it's always best to try and release the button/stick when the fill bar is completely full on every attempt, so a late defender doesn't knock you out of the window.
So what happens if im a crew owner and wanting to go play some ranked 5v5 crew runs but 5 dif people in my crew are already playing ranked 5v5... Do i have to kick them out of my crew just so I can also play? Or can your crew have multiple 5v5 games?
a crew can have multiple 5v5 games running simultaneously
Here's the list of dribble move categories you can customize. Moving Breakdowns are cool, they're quick signature combos that play when you hold Turbo and flick right stick Up on the move: Triple-Threat Style Triple-Threat Breakdown Triple-Threat Jab-Step Triple-Threat Stepover Signature Size-Up Breakdown Combos Moving Breakdown Combos Combo Moves Crossover Moving Between Legs Crossover Behind-the-Back Spin Hesitation Stepback Hesitation Escape Crossover Escape Between Legs Escape Behind-the-Back Escape Misdirection Hesitation Misdirection Crossover Misdirection Behind-the-Back Hesitation Crossover Combo Double Crossover Combo Behind-the-Back Launch Stepback Crossover Lateral Stepback Moving Cross Spin In-and-Out Lateral Hesitation
Rhythm shooting isn't exactly like 2K25 but it's closer to it. Just like the Shot Button, you have to green your timing to make your shots. Tempo (the speed at which you move the right stick from down to up) just modifies the size of the green window. The closer you match the tempo to the shooting motion, the bigger your window gets boosted (it's not a "massive" boost btw), but if you rush or drag the tempo, the window will shrink to be smaller than if you had just used the button. It's impossible to say with 100% certainty that there's perfect parity between the button and stick because they're fundamentally different mechanics, but we've focus tested rhythm shooting heavily with a wide skill range of players and I'm pretty confident that we've landed in a good spot.
Takeover is interesting this year. There are 5 buckets that level up or down based on how you perform in those buckets. Ratings that correspond to those buckets fluctuate up or down with them. When you max out one of the buckets, the Takeover ability you assign to that bucket pops automatically and times out after a few possessions (varies based on the strength of the Take.)
Hopefully this is a little more clear. If you take 100 shots and average 40% make percentage with zero badges. What would you expect your shot % to climb to if you took those same exact 100 shots but were fully badged out. 45-50% 51-60% 61-70% 70%+
NBA2KLab: Mike is trying to gauge the community on how difficult shooting should be in 2K27
Waiting for the 🐐 @Beluba to give the good word 🫡😂 Will I be able to do this spin in #NBA2K27
nice cover. yes that move is still in 2k27. With ball in left hand, RS to 9’oclock, twirl counter clockwise, release, immediately throw RS 3 o’clock
