You're going to load up the 2K27 builder, see this badge screen, and have no idea what you're looking at. But I'm going to break this down as simple as possible so you can optimize your badges and make the best possible build on day one. And I'm not going to waste your time. So, let's get right into it.

One of the most important things to know is that you won't be able to equip every single badge that you qualify for, which means you have to be more selective of the badges you want to equip. So, as you can see here, we have six disciplines: finishing, shooting, playmaking, defense, rebounding, and physicals. And in each discipline, you can see the available badge tokens in the top right. And underneath, you can see the total amount of badge slots.

First, I want to talk about the badge tokens. To equip your badges, you're going to need these tokens. The amount of badge tokens that you get, it's determined by the amount of attributes you put into each discipline. You can also gain bonus tokens as you level up your crew, rep, and other methods as well.

For example, you can earn a bonus token right now in NBA 2K27 just by logging onto their 2K HQ app for 60 total days. These tokens will add up quick and provide a huge gameplay advantage. That's the basics of badge tokens, but now let's get into badge slots. For every build, no matter how you make it, it will always start with 20 badge slots.

Where those slots get distributed is dependent on how many attributes you have invested within each discipline. Just like bonus tokens, you'll be able to grind and earn more bonus badge slots. And then you can apply these bonus badge slots into any discipline. Now, let's take a look at the new badge synergy system.

Now, badge synergy is just the name for this section. And to put it simply, your fuse badges are literally just max pluses or max plus2s. Any badge you equip into your fuse slot will cost zero badge tokens. And you can earn more of these fuse slots through season prizing, build specialization, crew, and rep rewards.

In our fuse row, you can see a total of eight fuse badges, six of which are max plus ones, two are going to be max plus2s. Now, I wouldn't bank on getting these max plus twos anytime soon, as one of these slots is gated by one of your build specialization quests. The other max plus two is earned by hitting legend 2 rep level. For most people, only one of these might be realistic, but they do provide a huge gameplay advantage, especially because Hall of Fame badges are extremely expensive, and the only way to get legend badges now is via max plus one or plus two.

And then finally, we have our reaction badges. And this is a pretty simple concept. So, say I've fused my set and fire badge, and underneath it, I have dead eyee as the reaction. Basically, I just hit a couple stand still three-point shots.

And that dead eyee badge will also get a plus one to silver for the rest of the game. So, ideally for your fuse slots, you want to put expensive badges that fire frequently so you can activate your reaction badges more often.
