But when looking at our charts, you'll notice it's not that simple. And I know you're probably wondering that if the window is pure, then why does our data show a curve that peaks in the middle and tapers off toward the edges instead of just a flat block of greens? But that's because the window doesn't sit in the same place for every rep, and no two attempts start at an identical position. But by testing the entire range, we can see the raw impact that each attribute has.

Looking at the raw data, it's pretty clear that you can be very effective at low ratings. Every cell in this chart indicates the make percentages for every 5 milliseconds throughout the green window. As the ratings increase, so does the margin of error. Mike Wang posted a tweet that basically confirmed that higher skilled players will be able to shoot with lower three-point ratings.

While other players may want to consider getting a higher rating to increase their green window on the screen now, we can see the usable timing window and how it expands at every single attribute. The left axis represents the milliseconds from the ideal hold with the center being a perfect release while the bottom axis represents each three-point rating. The bright green in the middle shows us the pure green window throughout every three-point rating. The dark green band that sits just outside of it only gets slightly bigger as the ratings increase.

But where you'll see the forgiveness really come into play is with the blue and yellow bands. At mid70s up until that 82 threepoint mark, we can start to see the green window increase. An 83 rating becomes a decent value threshold as the window opens up slightly, but more importantly, you unlock bronze limitless range. But right around an 85 3-point rating, we can see one of the biggest jumps in your green window, making 85 somewhat of a sweet spot when it comes to raw value because you also unlock silver dead eyee as well, which activates a good amount.

A 93 point rating sees another decent increase, but not as much as 85. But when considering the unlocks around this rating, it becomes a pretty elite threshold with access to the most powerful shooting takeovers and gold badges like set and fire and arc cadence. And then at a 95 and 99 ratings, we only see the green window open up slightly. And the major advantage here will be unlocking the hall of fame and legend badges that you'll eventually have access to.

Now, badges will play a huge part in boosting your make percentages, and it should be the main factor when considering which three-point rating you want to target. But getting this raw data gives us a great foundation to work off. and actually shows us the true power of each rating. But that about wraps up our three-point rating guide in NBA 2K27.
