NBA 2K24 Floor Setters : How Floor Setters Work

One of the biggest changes in NBA2K24 was the change to how players can earn badges. Badge points are gone, and a new system is in place where badges can be leveled/lost based on how often you use the badge in game. Theoretically, this will have the badges mold to your playstyle, but it has left some players frustrated because they cannot possibly activate every badge every game.

This is where the newly introduced to NBA 2k24 Floor Setters come in.

How do you unlock Floor Setters in NBA2K24?

Silver Floor Setters are unlocked via the free track of the season Battle Pass at level 20 and the Gold Floor Setters are unlocked at level 40. There will be 9 seasons throughout the game cycle of NBA2K24 and there will be a silver floor setter and gold floor setter reward each season bringing you to a total of 18 floor setters that can be earned.

Floor setters are just one of many season rewards in 2k24. You can learn more about season rewards on our NBA 2K24 Season Rewards Page

What badges should you use Floor Setters on?

The most important thing to remember is that once a Floor Setter is applied to a badge, it cannot be switched to another badge. It is permanent! So this makes for a tough decision on which badge to apply, especially in the early seasons where we only have one or two Floor Setters.

Our biggest piece of advice is to be patient and play a few games to monitor your badge progression. See which badges you level naturally easily and see which ones you lose progress on but still would like the badge to be on a higher level. This is very playstyle/build dependent so there isn't necessarily a “best” option. I personally like to use it on badges I cannot control as easily but are still a part of my game. Here are some good options for different play styles if you are still struggling to decide

Best Shooting Badges For:

  • Small Guards
    • Unpluckable- Unpluckable- reliant on the defenders reaching at you to level up
    • Blinders- Blinders- Hard shots to hit so harder to gain progression, but still an important badge to have
    • Limitless Range - - Hard shot to hit but necessary to have if you want to shoot from deep
    • Middy Magician- Middy Magician- Very strong badge in 24, but depends on your play style if you earn it easily or not
  • Wings
    • Clamps- Clamps- Depends on if you are guarding a ball handler often in order to keep it leveling
    • Interceptor- Interceptor- Dependant on the ball being passed towards you, but also a very important badge to maintain
    • Catch and Shoot- Catch and Shoot- Need to get a lot of shots to keep the badge going up and sometimes you don't get many shot opportunities
    • Unpluckable- Unpluckable- reliant on the defenders reaching at you to level up
    • Precision Dunker- Precision Dunker- Can be hard to pull off in traffic but is very much needed if you want to get contact dunks consistently
  • Bigs
    • Catch and Shoot- Catch and Shoot- Need to get a lot of shots to keep the badge going up and sometimes you don't get many shot opportunities
    • Post Lockdown- Post Lockdown- You don't always defend post scorers to get progression of this badge, but when you do play them, you'll want it on a high level
    • Post Spin/Drop Sepper/ Post Fade Phenom - Post scoring badges are very nice to have but some games you cannot activate often. Which one you choose really depends on your play style
